COVID-19 has changed the landscape in many ways. Society has had to make many changes, but this unfortunate situation has also given us a new perspective. Lighting technology can be used in ways besides just illuminating a space. The new UVFocus product line from LumenFocus features luminaires designed for pathogen eradication. According to the International Ultraviolet Association, along with research conducted by Signify and the National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories at Boston University, UV technology can play a role in reducing the transmission of SARS-CoV-2. UV is a disinfectant for air, water and surfaces. This technology has been used for many years now. Our UVFocus product line includes UVC products - the GUA series, the GLS, the GCD, with more in development. When used correctly, these luminaires can help mitigate the risk of SARS-CoV-2 infection. UVC disinfection should be used with other avenues in a multi-faceted approach to ensure that if a pathogen is not killed by one particular method, it is rendered inactive by the UVC. Our new GUA series utilizes 254nm UVC wavelengths which can be used to treat both viral and bacterial pathogens. These indirect fixtures are either wall-mounted or hung inverted while the UVC treats the upper air cavity in the room. The GCD series also uses 254nm UVC to cleanse unoccupied rooms. This fixture hangs in the corner where the wall meets the ceiling.
It is important to understand the potential dangers UV lighting can present. Please be sure to heed all warnings when using these products. UV light can cause sunburn-like reactions and eye damage if exposed, or if luminaires are installed incorrectly.
We are also offering new versions of our FormFocus FFL and FFR products using IllumiPure LEDs. The LEDs in the new FFLD troffer and FFRD retrofit feature cutting-edge technology - light that can kill 99.9 percent of bacteria using a wavelength that is safe for both humans and animals.
The new GAC LED germicidal air chamber utilizes a two-prong approach to attack airborne pathogens. The downlight utilizes anti-bacterial near-UV technology to disinfect hard and soft surfaces, while air is simultaneously circulated into a rear chamber that utilizes UVC LEDs to inactivate viruses (including COVID-19), bacteria and spores. LumenFocus' GUA product line of upper air germicidal luminaires can be used to reduce airborne pathogens - bacteria and viruses, including COVID-19. These products utilize low-wattage, ozone-free GUVT8 lamps producing 254nm UVC. When mounted at the specified height, the UVC light produced by these luminaires will not come into contact with humans and pets. An optional AirFocus system adds fans to the units for additional circulation. These products can be used in many applications:

A specially designed polished aluminum reflector is optimized for dispersion of UVC wavelength for irradiation of pathogens. The GUA comes in a sconce (GUA S) and pendant (GUA P) option.
The GCD provides direct germicidal eradication, and is designed to be powered on when the room is unoccupied. The GCD hangs in the corner where the wall meets the ceiling. The GCD utilizes low-wattage, ozone-free GUVT8 lamps producing 254nm UVC. Constructed of durable cold rolled steel, it is available in silver (standard), white or black powder coated finish. A stainless steel housing option is available as well. The polished aluminum reflector is optimized for UVC wavelength for the irradiation of pathogens. A wireguard comes standard. The GCD is suitable for:

A reverse occupancy sensor powers off the unit when a person is detected in the occupancy zone. The GCD powers back on when the area is unoccupied for a period of time.
Like the GCD, the GLS provides direct germicidal eradication and is designed to be used in unoccupied rooms. The GLS can be recessed into grid ceilings or surface-mounted. It also utilizes low-wattage, ozone-free GUVT8 lamps producing 254nm UVC. Constructed of durable cold rolled steel, it is available in silver (standard), white or black powder coated finish. A stainless steel housing option is available as well. The polished aluminum reflector is optimized for UVC wavelength for the irradiation of pathogens. A wireguard comes standard. The GLS works as a great compliment to the GCD - with the GCD mounted in the corners of the room, and the GLS providing additional irradiation in the middle or throughout the room as needed.

Just like the GCD, the GLS features reverse occupancy sensor powers off the unit when a person is detected in the occupancy zone. The GLS powers back on when the area is unoccupied for a period of time.
Note: Successful UV disinfection requires a systems approach taking into account dose, optics and safety relevant to the specific application. Please consult with the factory any questions or concerns. Avoid looking directly at the light and take necessary precautions during installation or maintenance of these products. Lamps used in the GUA, GCD and GLS series contain mercury.

The PIC is a wall-mounted bipolar particle ionization chamber. The PIC is lightweight and easy to install. The side-mounted fan pulls air inside and across the internal bipolar ionization unit. Ions are then broadcast a significant distance into the room through vents on the opposite side. The PIC eradicates pathogens - bacteria, molds, and viruses - and neutralizes odors. It provides particle reduction and smoke control.
The PIC is suitable for:

The internal ionization unit in the PIC features all-composite and carbon fiber construction that can stand up to corrosive environments. It features a programmable auto-cleaning cycle.
The PIC is safe for humans, so you can remain in the room while it operates.
With the FFLD and FFRD, we have introduced high performance disinfecting LEDs from IllumiPure to our FormFocus product line. When the lights are kept on, these LEDs provide continuous disinfection for hard or soft surfaces, killing 99.9 percent of bacteria such as MRSA, C. Difficile, Salmonella and E. Coli.
The FFRD is a retrofit kit, available in 2x2 and 2x4 sizes, that can be installed into an existing troffer housing quickly and easily (3-5 minutes). The FFLD is a matching new luminaire.
Because the LEDs used in the FFLD and FFRD utilize a 405nm near-UV wavelength that is part of the normal visible LED spectrum, these products are completely harmless to humans and animals.

Note: The FFLD and FFRD are engineered to eradicate bacteria over time, but not viruses.
The GAC is a revolutionary, state-of-the-art pathogen eradicating luminaire - a combination disinfection lay-in and germicidal air chamber. It utilizes anti-viral and anti-bacterial lighting technology.
The anti-bacterial down light in the GAC continuously disinfects any hard to soft surfaces simply by keeping the lights on. It utilizes IllumiPure LEDs that are, like the FFLD and FFRD, near-UV and part of the normal visible LED spectrum. the down light is completely harmless.
Fans (or a single fan in the case of the 2x2 unit) circulate air into a rear chamber. Inside this chamber, 260-265nm UVC LEDs cleanse the air inside of pathogens (viruses, including COVID-19, bacteria and spores) with a 99-plus percent inactivation rate. The clean air is then circulated back into the room. The GAC circulates approximately 300 square feet of air every 10 minutes.
The GAB is a similar product to the GAC, just minus the down light component. The GAB sits in the ceiling and acts as a germicidal air chamber, using the same UVC rear chamber system as the GAB.
The GAC and GAB can be used in several applications:

- May be placed in room, plenum or air duct

Note: UVFocus products are designed utilizing proven germicidal and antibacterial technology. UVC 254nm products work to deactivate most common viruses (as well as bacteria, molds and yeasts), and 405nm near-UV products are shown to substantially reduce bacterial presence.
